Annotations

Snapbug includes a built-in annotation editor for marking up screenshots before they become bug reports. Highlight problems, obscure sensitive data, and add written context — the same editor experience is available in the Recorder app, in the SDK's in-app report flow, and in the Chrome extension.

Tools

Arrow

Point at the exact element that misbehaves. Drag from the starting point to the target. An arrow can carry a comment describing what is wrong.

Rectangle

Draw rectangular highlights to call attention to a UI area — misaligned elements, wrong colors, or unexpected content.

Blur

Obscure sensitive information before the screenshot leaves your device:

• Personal data — names, emails, phone numbers
• Authentication tokens — API keys, session IDs
• Financial data — account numbers, balances

Draw over the area you want to hide; the region is pixelated in the exported image.

Text

Add text labels to provide written context — e.g. "Button should be disabled here". Tap where you want the label and type.

Comments and the Annotation List

Annotations are objects, not baked-in strokes. Each one can carry a comment, and the annotation list shows everything you've added — tap an entry to edit its comment or remove the annotation. This keeps reports structured: every marked spot has an explanation attached.

Colors

Pick the annotation color from a predefined palette (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, and more), so different annotations on one screenshot stay distinguishable.

Export and Share

When your annotations are complete:

• Send to Inspector — the annotated report appears in the inspector's Reports with each annotation and its comment preserved.
• Share — export the annotated image via the system share sheet to Slack, Jira, email, or any other app.
